:: There will be a memorial for Tom Baffico on Sun Nov 15
:: from 1pm-4pm in the Chart Room at the StFYC. All friends
:: and acquaintances of Tom are welcome especially those
:: from the Snipe, Express 27 and Open 5.7 fleets. If you
:: have some Tom sea stories please bring them along too.
:: Tom started racing as a teenager on Lake Merced in San
:: Francisco, participated in the St Francis junior
:: program, crewed on big boats including for Tom
:: Blackaller and then was on the UC Berkeley college
:: sailing team. He also raced a Snipe during those years.
:: After a long break from sailing, he started racing an
:: Express 27 in the mid 1990s and joined the Open 5.7
:: fleet in the late 2000s. During this time he crewed on a
:: variety of other race boats as well. One sailor had this

:: He was one of the best fellow competitors in the sport
:: because you always knew it would be a good race and back
:: on the dock good camaraderie no matter whether he beat
:: you or you beat him.
